After overcoming months of setbacks, the Cardiff School District is scheduled to begin the rebuild of its original campus on Montgomery Avenue this June, but more setbacks are looming.

Opinion: Encinitas Says “No Thanks” to Railtrail in Leucadia
The City Council meeting Wednesday night was amazing. SANDAG offered the City a rail trail, approved, expedited, and free, and the City said “no”. They offered a rail trail on the west side of the tracks, fully enclosed with fences, safe and away from cars, with a paved path in both directions and separate areas for pedestrians.

Encinitas Boardriders Club
The Encinitas Boardriders Club is barely over a year old but already has almost 100 members. They are an affiliate of the state-wide West Coast Board Riders, an association of surf clubs that sponsors regional surf contests for the clubs to compete against each other.

The Lie of Self Care
It’s all the hype right now, the importance of self care. And, for good reason. I heard on a podcast the other day we are becoming a more mature society, moving from survival mode and working for basic needs, to one of seeking growth and evolution. Which brings up the topic of self care, which can be basic needs such as proper rest, and nutrition as well as beyond these basic needs to survive.
